The one before the "1"

How we find ourselves a mere week before the big 1, I have no idea.  At the risk of sounding cliche; this past year has absolutely flown by.  However, we still have 7 days to go before we say hello to the "oh 1", and we will relish every second of our fleeting youth!
Week 51 finds us more ornery than ever.  These kiddos are challenging me to stay one step ahead of them in ways I've never imagined.  They've breached security (busted through the gate) several times, and no matter how I configure the gate, they always find a way to bring it down.  They team up to take down the the gates, but once out, it is divide and conquer as they zoom around the house finding every possible danger that awaits them! Hudson likes to run away then turn around to make sure you are chasing him.  He has also learned how to blow kisses (even making the "mwah" sound).

You'd have thought that he just won the lottery, that bottle made him so happy.

Sloane has found that everything is "climbable".

Not sure this is the intended use.

I have to keep the tv off because this is how she likes to watch it.

But how can I be upset with her when she also does things like this?

We are dealing with a little bit of a bully situation with Dylan, which I'm hoping is just a phase.  For now though, we are trying to teach him that knocking down your siblings to take their toy is not acceptable.  I've learned from some fellow triplet moms (who I'm very grateful to know!) that one kiddo is usually more dominant than the others.

Are you familiar with the "Ferdinand the Bull" story?  Inspired by Dylan.

Going in for the hug. So lovable!

I always get some interesting comments when I'm out with the kids.  Most often it's "Are there three of them??" or "You've really got your hands full!".  Today while out, I got an unusual and awesome comment from a grandmother picking up her middle school aged grandsons.  She started with "Well I'll be!" then told me that she and the grandsons just finished playing the game of "Life" and in the game she had triplets, what a coincidence! When I said that my real game of life was hysterical, she replied "I'm proud of you!".  In the almost year of being a momma to 3, no stranger has ever told me they were proud of me.  It truly made my day!!  Maybe she wouldn't have said that if she saw me wresting one to change their diaper, while discouraging another from climbing up my legs and hollering at the third to not eat the diaper cream.  Maybe not my most proud moment.

51 weeks young!

It might be time for a professional to take over these photo sessions.
