If I had to write a country song about this week, Crying At the Y would be the title. This week was YMCA daycare bootcamp for the kiddos. I started with leaving them for small amounts of time and have slowly worked up to a whole 35 minutes today! Needless to say, there's been a lot of tears from the trio. Every time I drop them off (and by "drop off" I mean one of the teachers peels the children off my legs) the teacher that holds Hudson while I walk away still has him in her lap when I return. Sloane and Dylan have a difficult time at first, but when I return I usually find them playing happily. However, the second they see me they turn to puddles. I think it's really important for them to socialize with other kids, as well as get them comfortable with being away from me for a little bit. The good news is that I've not been paged to retrieve them...yet! We will continue to work on it next week.
The kids aren't the only ones who've been crying at the Y. Their Momma has been, too. As you can imagine, when the four of us roll up to the entrance, it's usually quite the scene. I believe the correct terminology for it would be a "hot mess". Numerous kind folks have offered to hold doors open or help me to the car, everyone has gone out of their way to be kind to us. Today, however, a sweet mom carrying her young son made me join the kiddos in sob-land. As I was herding my brood (rather unsuccessfully) out the door she came over and said "I have to tell you, you are doing a great job."
I can't tell you how much that sentiment meant to me. She must have sensed the frustration and lack of patience I was feeling, because that compliment was the only thing that saved my sanity this morning. I hear "you have your hands full" 77 times a day, but that was the first time someone stopped to say some kind words. I will most certainly be paying it forward!
We are looking forward to Papa and Nana coming in to visit us this weekend. We hope you are looking forward to a great weekend as well!

Here you can see that the boys got out a cutting board and chose to empty out their snacks on it and eat them from there instead of their snack cups. Weirdos. |

| I like to call this one "See! I'm not totally screwing them up!" |

| Sloane girl loved the bubbles during story time at the library! |
 |
| Dylan enjoyed them as well, but Hudson had to make sure that mommy wasn't too far away. |
