The life and times of the kids, Solack: Registering for Harvard...I mean, Preschool

Let me just tell you, my friends...never in a million years did I suspect registering for preschool would be so daunting. I mean, we are in week 2 of the search, and it's incredibly competitive. The saga begins with my ignorance, when I thought I could simply stroll on in to the school on registration day (yes folks, it's January and we are registering for preschool that starts in the Fall). I even thought I was being extra fastidious in my preparedness by arriving at 9:15am (15 minutes after registration opened). Much to my surprise, there was a long line already formed to sign up. So I begrudgingly dragged my three 2.5 year olds to stand in line. You can imagine how that went. 30 grueling minutes later it was our turn to register, we walk in to the office only to be told that classes were full. If you thought my toddlers threw bad temper tantrums, you should've seen the one I threw in the preschool office. It was not one of my finer moments.
The second school we tried was delightful and had openings. Hip hip hooray! It only cost $1000/mo to attend 4 hours a week...to learn to count...and recognize shapes...and eat snacks.

We are on school number three which we toured this morning and fell in love with. It was the most adorable, charming school you could ever imagine. There is a little walking path, with a pond on the property, the kids can go on field trips and play in the indoor playground when the weather is bad. Too good to be true is what I was thinking. I was able to finagle some insider information due to the sympathy I gained from having triplets and was told there are only 7 spots left and registration is Tuesday at 8:30am. Guess who is camping out at the school Monday night?!?!
