Wedding Crashers

Here comes the bride, ring bearers, flower girls...aaaaaaaaaaand, there go the ring bearers!
The wedding weekend was busy, hot and tons of fun.  Friday night we had the rehearsal and the kids were super excited and did great practicing.  We had grounds for feeling confident.  Saturday came and we piled the kids in the car to check into the hotel. It was the kids' first visit to a hotel room and they were insanely excited to be there.  They kept saying they were camping and wanted to have a camp fire in the room.  I'm thinking that wouldn't have gone over well with hotel management.  They got to take a dip in the rooftop pool and LOVED riding the elevators.  Photo session time started and Sloane was first up for the pictures.  She and her co-flower girl did a great job smiling for the camera.  The boys were up next and looked very dapper with the groom and co-ring bearer.  The kiddos loved wearing their attire, and knew they looked cute.  I'm pretty sure by the end of the day, they knew everyone else staying in the hotel as they chatted up every passer by.  Finally, it was time showtime.  I can't even tell you the amount of pep talks, bribery and pleading I did to make sure they got down that aisle.  I got the 5 ring bearers and flower girls all the way to the start of the aisle and it was go time.  The next 30 seconds were a blur.  The boys took off at breakneck speed and Sloane froze and said that she wouldn't go unless I walked her down.  And so, I finally got to check "be a flower girl" off my bucket list.  Meanwhile, the boys have not only gotten down the aisle, but also climbed up the stage, gave the groom a high 5 then jumped off the back of the stage.
Listen...I call that a win.  All three of my kids made it down the aisle in some shape or form.  They may have gone a little further, but I'd say they accomplished the goal...being cute.
Cal and I want to give a huge shout out to Nana and Papa who saved the weekend by helping out with the kids and taking them home after the last photo session so mom and dad could enjoy the rest of the festivities.  Thank you very much Nana and Papa!!
