Ooopsie Daisy

Did you miss us?
Our routine is a little a lot off these days.  It's safe to say that adding school to our schedule has thrown off our rhythm.  Multiply that with nap time becoming less than reliable, and you get a weekly blog that is M.I.A.  Last week was a total whirlwind.  Daddy had to go out of town for work, the kids had their second full week of school, and we had a visit from Nana and Papa.  We are slowly finding a new routine and I'm sure I'll be back to the regularly scheduled programming soon!

The kids absolutely love school!  Every morning they ask if it is a school day, and very much look forward to Wednesday and Friday.  Talking about what happens during school is a lesson in patience. Of course I drill them about their day as soon as I pick them up, but in return I get three blank stares.  They can never tell me what they've done at school.  The interesting thing is that bits of information come out during bed time, when I'm not even asking them about school.  Sometimes they'll start singing a song they learned, or they'll tell me about a book they read, or what center choice they made.  I tried to interview Sloane about school, and it started off great, but took a turn for the weird (and made up) quickly.

"Sloane: I like when I was going to school
Me: What do you do at school?
S: I learn and play
M: What do you learn?
S: I learn about kitty cats and bananas and I want you to come to school and look at the pictures I drew for Santa and Nana
M: That's a good idea
S: I hope you enjoy your flight! Bye!
M: Can you think of any songs you learn at school?
S: Hush a bye, don't you cry, go to sleep my little Sloane.  When you draw you can draw.....when you wake you....Uh oh! My picture I just drawed.
M: I love you, Sloane
S: Okay."

Besides school, 2/3rds of the kiddos had their first dentist appointment.  I can't tell you how proud I am of them.  They had no fear and were great patients.  I truly think they enjoyed the experience.  They got lots of compliments from the staff at the office.  Hudson goes next Tuesday and he can't wait!
When I try to brush her teeth it's an all out battle, but sure, let the stranger floss your teeth...that makes sense.

look at those pearly whites

We took a train ride at the zoo

We took a bike ride around the neighborhood

We played dress up with the winter clothes

Repping Honda

The kids are super into "reading" maps.  They were in heaven with the zoo maps.
