We're Baaaacck

Hello 2017!
Thanks for understanding while I took some time off during the holidays.
Christmas was complete and total chaos, and so so much fun! It will be remembered as the first Christmas that they truly "got it".  I couldn't help but think back to their first Christmas as 6 month olds and it not feeling like Christmas at all.  I remember feeling so overwhelmed by the needs of three 6 month olds that I felt like the holidays may never be an enjoyable time again.
I was wrong.
Nana and Papa came in and we took the kids to the Christmas Eve service at the church where they go to preschool. And though wiggly, overall they did great.  Then we all had dinner at Bap and Gee Gee's.  As the evening wore on, the kids began to worry that if we didn't get home soon Santa might pass them by.  So we hurried home to find that he'd left PJs and ornaments for us! Their excitement was palpable.  They couldn't wait to put cookies and milk out and get in bed.  Once they got in bed, however, falling asleep was a totally different matter.  Excitement about Santa turned to fear.  They began getting fearful about a strange man coming to our house via the chimney while they are sleeping (who could blame them?!?).  Around 10pm visions of sugar plums were dancing in their heads.
I was very impressed that they slept all the way until 7am, but the following few hours were totally a blur.  Wrapping paper flying everywhere, toys from one side of the room to the other, the sound of drums and cymbals filling the air.  You read that right.  Someone's sister who shall remain nameless (Lara) bought the kids a drum set.
It was such a wonderful, exhausting morning! The rest of the holiday was spent in our PJs playing with new toys and eating.  We are finally getting back into our normal routine and it feels great.  We are back to school and work and wearing pants again!
