I usually write the blog with at least a theme
in mind…I have a general topic that I plan on writing about.
I didn’t have much to share this week so I thought I’d go through some
pictures to break my writers block. As I perused the pics, skipping past the
300 snapshots of the carpet, blurry selfies, and the terrifying few featuring
yours truly that they kids love taking these days, I came to realize how grown
up the babies are getting.
It’s
shocking really.
We go through our daily
routine, paying little attention to anything but the clock telling us how late
we are.
Looking back over the last 2
weeks, I’m forced to acknowledge how capable they are becoming.
No longer babies, or toddlers even, they are
little kids now.
I’m so proud of the people they are becoming. Dylan is the most empathetic child I’ve ever
met. I know that sounds like a mom being
biased about her own kid, and I’m sure it is to some extent. But, I must say not a day goes by that I’m
not moved by his kindness and caring. He
is always the first to help someone out, ask how they are doing, say please and
thank you. It’s intuitive to him. He is a big boy with an even bigger heart.
Hudson is emerging as our curious little monkey. He is always asking questions, and I
occasionally don’t know the answer (“how do bees make honey?”…..ummmm, let’s
look that up buddy). He cannot accept my
answer of “I don’t know”. When I use
those three little words I’m always met with “But just tell me Mommy!” We had an in depth conversation about our
intestinal functions the other day.
Sloane is a sponge.
She loves learning and retains everything. She will undoubtedly be the teacher’s
pet. She is quite interested in learning
about plants and animals these days as well as how to write everyone’s names.
I know these are things that happen to every kid, and ours
are no different, but it’s so fun and exciting to see them learn and grow
everyday.
