School's out for summer

We’ve kicked off the kiddos’ first “Summer Break” with a bang!  We’ve been to the zoo, the backyard pool, the garden center, golfing, back to the backyard pool, cooking out with our awesome neighbors…it’s been a great unofficial start to Summertime.
The first day of summer break calls for a trip to the zoo.  And for my kids that means brushing the goats and playing on the decorations at the zoo.  Behind the goofy kids playing in the canoe are 2 beautiful brown bears....but hey, why check out the bears when you can pretend to row a boat?

Hey Sloane, how do you feel about goats?

Girlfriend is an absolute goat whisperer.  When I was her age I was TERRIFIED of petting zoos.  I think she feels a little differently.

Hugging a goat...normal stuff.

We've also been working on our garden.  This year we planted herbs, tomatoes and flowers.  The kids are terrific green thumbs and love helping with the yard work.
Nothing out of the ordinary here...just watering the flowers, in a bathing suit, and goggles.

Seriously cute.
Getting them started early.  Dyl needs to work on his farmer's tan.

We celebrated Mother's day with dinner at Gee Gee's house, complete with a round of golf in the front yard.

FORE!

And tree climbing as well.

Lessons from Bap

Good form
The weather has been super warm and beautiful so we've been spending all our time outside.  Since the pools aren't open yet, we've set up our own.
Crazy Dylie!

Cannonball!

Playing in the pool is hard work, time to rest!

She is so cute.
Poor Hudson love' dogs (our neighbor's dog Copper, specifically) more than any human I've ever met.
He is also more allergic to dogs than any human I've ever met.

We went out to dinner last night, long days in the sun tire a momma out too, it's too nice out to cook dinner.  After our meal the kids had their first experience with the video game Golden Tee.  Mommy may have played a few rounds of this in college!

I think they got an 11 on this particular hole.

I'll leave you with this story.  Hudson came up to me after breakfast, trying to carry these 3 stuffed animals.  He huffed, "Oh man, I have too many babies."

I feel your pain, kiddo.

It's hard to carry three babies, huh?
