In the afterglow of our first Christmas as a family of 5, I completely forgot that yesterday was Thursday and neglected to contribute to the blog. My apologies : )
Christmas was a huge success, the Solack trio must have been doubly good for half a year, as they received tons of presents. Not to wish time away, but we are definitely looking forward to next year when they understand a little bit better what all the fuss is about. They all three did a pretty good job of tearing into the paper (and putting it directly into their mouths). However, the paper was as much fun to them as what was held inside! We had so much fun Christmas morning, we didn't take too many pics, but here is the best of what we had.

Santa came!

Dyl is pretty excited about all the action
|
Hudson is a little too small for the rocking horse, but he is still loving it!

Daddy got a new toy, and decided to share it with Sloane. You can see how happy she is about it.
It was a bit weird to not be in East Liverpool for Christmas, But Cal and I are excited to start some of our own holiday traditions. One we were able to start this year is going to see the Zoo Lights. Of course you can't see the lights until after dark, which is a pretty tricky time of the day for us, since the kids are pretty exhausted and cranky by that point. Realizing this outing was more for the adults rather than the children, we decided to brave it anyway. Sometimes you just have to take a risk and get out of the house before you go too insane. We bundled the kiddos up, and had reinforcements in Gramma, Aunt Larry, and De Facto Aunt Stephanie (who traveled all the way from Virginia, through a sea of swirly twirly gum drops, and over the Appalachian Mountains to be with us). We got to the zoo at dusk, strapped the kids on to us and went forth. To all of our surprise, the babes absolutely loved the trip! They were amazed at the lights and colors, and stared, mouth agape, at everything. It was one memory we will never forget. They had a ball and the adults did too. Also, to thank Mommy and Daddy for the fun evening, the kiddos all slept 11 straight hours that night (We might go to the zoo every evening!! It feels like I live in a zoo every evening anyway).

Little blurry, but the gang's almost all here (Gram was taking the pic)
Besides celebrating the holidays, the kids have been growing by leaps and bounds daily. I still haven't figured out how to add videos that are viewable on mobile devices, so you have to watch on a laptop or computer to see them, but here are some vids of the kids doing some pretty fun stuff.
Hudson is the best jumper! It cracks us up how he uses just one foot to propel himself. He is a regular Lord of the Dance.
Dylan is dangerously close to crawling. He is getting up on all fours and moving in the direction of something he wants. Dear Lord save us all.
Sloane is 6 months going on 6 years. She is so interested in anything the adults are doing, especially eating and drinking. She will grab anything in our hands and put it in her mouth. You might not be able to tell from the video, but she is actually drinking the water from the glass.
27 weeks!
Thank you for the taste of Christmas at the Powell, Ohio annex.
