Life with Multiples

I know I've written about life with the triplets by the numbers before, but I thought I'd share other little eccentricities of what a day in the life of the Solack 5 is like.  Of course you know all about us needing three of everything; cribs, car seats, swings, bouncy chairs, etc., but there are other ways that we cope with higher order multiples.  Having three babies forces you to think critically about time management, and in doing so, we've found little ways to make the most of our time and efforts.  We just thought we'd share some of the things we do that might be unique to most new parents, but to us it's just life as usual.

Some folks might be familiar with bottle warmers that heat up a baby's bottle in about 5 minutes.  Well, 5 minutes x 3 = screaming, hungry babies.  Our fix? A crockpot filled with water that we keep on high all day.  It has saved us so much time being able to quickly warm all three bottles at the same time.  Yay for no more hangry (hungry and angry) babies!

We order everything in bulk, or by subscribing to them on Amazon.  For example, one 2.5 pound box of formula lasts us 2 days, one 108 count box of diapers lasts us 6 days, the kids eat 3 pouches of pureed food 3 times a day, making that 63 pouches of food a week.  There are simply not enough hours in a day to get to a grocery store to keep up our supplies, so we subscribe to these items on Amazon and they magically appear on our door steps monthly.  We are so thankful for this service!

Speaking of formula, below is a picture of the bottle making party that occurs nightly at our house.
Drink up!
After the kids go to bed, we proceed with making 24 hours worth of feedings for the trio.  One awesome way we save time and effort is using a 2 quart Kool-aid mixing pitcher to prepare the formula.  It's unconventional, but it works!  I'm sure there are many other things we do to make our lives a little easier, but again, they are just second nature to us.  It will be interesting to see how these tasks evolve as the kids get older.  But for now, we have 38 week olds who make it all worthwhile!

Seriously, when did they get old enough to do things like this?

Table for 2!

Please excuse the feet, I haven't had time for a pedicure in the last 38 weeks...
