Are my kids bad?

This week has seen us participating in activities that are outside of our comfort zone.  As in, outside of our house.  We've gone out to dinner several times, went to a birthday party and visited friends' houses.  I know these activities seem mundane, but when you're outnumbered by toddlers and in unfamiliar territory, the odds are not in your favor.  During these outings the kids ran away from me, called 911, threw temper tantrums, ate dog food, spilled an entire cup of milk on the restaurant floor, threw silverware, and various other infractions.  These behaviors leave me asking myself "Are my kids bad?"
It is so incredibly important to me that my children have good manners and are well behaved.  I'm constantly worried that I'm not doing enough to make that happen.  The fact that there are 3 of them and 1 of me makes it challenging to have my eyes on all of them all the time.  We don't get out of our triplet-proofed bubble very often, so when we do it's like an episode of Curious George.  When we are in places that are not childproofed (heck, even ones that are childproofed, but only proofed for 1 child) it is magnificently difficult to expect and require good behavior.  Which leads me to my next question "Are my kids bad, or are they just being (3) kids?"
I'm in a constant battle with myself wondering if my expectations are too high, or if I'm not doing a very good job of disciplining them.  I also wonder if other parents deal with these feelings as well.  Is this what parenthood is all about, constantly questioning yourself and the job you are doing???  Ugh...pass the box of wine.
On a positive note- I must commend the trio on their good manners, always saying please and thank you....so there's that!
Friends since 2002.  Time and Change has surely shown!
