If you aren't in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?

Heaven Help Us
Saturday June, 20th began unlike any other day in the last two years. The kids would be turning 2, and there was a party to throw, swimming lessons to attend and family to hang out with. As always, I woke up early to get things ready for the day and get a head start. About an hour later is when things took a turn for the strange.
When Dylan and Sloane wake up they usually laugh, talk and play in their cribs for a while. However I noticed that they were even more loud than usual. Imagine my surprise when I walked in their room to find them out of their cribs and running wild all around their room. It had arrived. The day I've been dreading for 2 years. They had learned how to escape the imprisonment of the crib. We tried a few hacks; lowering the crib the remaining inch, putting their sleep sacks on backwards so they can't get them off...all to no avail. Later that day at nap time the Climby Climbersons were back at it again. Laughing their little heads off the entire time.
The next few days were an experiment in trying to convince them to stay in their cribs. Nothing we tried was successful, which lead to this:
Pray for us
That's right. The era of toddler beds is amongst us. As terrifying as it is, it's a little bit like removing a band aid. I've been worried about it for so long, it's time to face it and deal with it. The first night went incredibly well. They just laid down and went right to sleep...until 6am when they got out every stitch of clothing they own and tossed them around the room. Each encounter with sleep is a little different, however, they have each resulted in the same outcome; sleeping children. I'm happy to report that they are doing better than I expected them to!
Their 2nd birthday was so fun, thank you to all our friends who joined us. The kids had a fantastic time! The cake eating was MUCH more enjoyable than last year and they did a great job blowing out their candles.
If you look closely you can see Huddy making eyes
at the cupcake
Think Hudson liked their new train table?
New harmonicas, new picnic table, no clothes on. Could life get any better?
Sloane loves her "Princess Rella"
Meeska Mooska Mickey Mouse!
Om nom nom nom....
Why don't we eat this every day?
Not sure how to tackle this thing...

Happy Father's Day! We went for a little swim to celebrate.
Beep Beep!
Sup.
Beware the Scioto Reserve Biker Gang.
The kids made their first ever "art project" at the Y. If you know me, you know just how happy this makes me. USA! USA! USA!
