It seems we are going through some kind of transition, and sleep has been unpredictable at best. The past several nights have seen multiple wakings with all 3 babes ready to party at all hours of the night. On top of that, they are certain that 5am is a great time to start the day. This has been quite difficult for me, as I'm not very good at not being able to "fix" things. I deal best with black and white and am not so good with gray. Turns out babies don't have a manual to refer to when they need a little tweaking. Sleep deprived and pitiful would be the best two ways to describe my state, which is no state to be problem solving in. Thank goodness for the internet!! After extensive research I believe that I've learned that we are dealing with a host of issues. One is that they are all beginning the crawl, which I've found out disrupts their nights as they are excited to keep practicing (at all hours). Another is that they are ready to drop their 3rd nap of the day. Finally we could be teething, however, we've yet to see tangible evidence of any chompers. So, we are working on transitioning from 3 naps a day to 2 in hopes that they sleep better through the night. This transition is proving to be quite challenging as we try to keep them awake for 3 hours between naps, we've got three grumpy babies rubbing their eyes and crying. Please send us some good juju for more restful nights in the near future. Or advice...we'll take that too! :)
In other, more positive, news; We've experienced some successful journeys to the great outdoors! Hudson and I went to the ENT to check out some funny noises he makes while breathing. Turns out he is just fine, but has underdeveloped vocal chords that flap when he breaths, making him sound like a squeak toy. The doc said he should grow out of it around one year. We were obviously pleased with that outcome. Dylan and I had a slightly more fun outing, when we finally made it to the library for story time. He was more interested in the other babies than Mr. George, the story teller. But he did seem to really enjoy a change of scenery. Sloane is on deck to head out Monday for her adventure! Thankfully the extended forecast does not include the words "Polar" or "Vortex" and we can start to head out more regularly.
Week 32 has been full of army crawling, rocking, scooting and schedule tweaking!
